This article discusses several techniques to achieve grain with p5, texture overlays, SVG filters, and shaders. We’ll discuss each one in great detail and the ups and downsides.

I published "adrift" on fx(hash) in September 2022 as a creative collaboration with Adam from Tender Art. The essence behind it is the depiction of human habitat through algorithmic processes. I divided the article into sections corresponding to the simulation phases: terraforming, choosing potential settlement locations, establishing possible connections between cities, and calculating the final urban landscape.

Volume DAO was invited by Greater Taipei Biennial of Contemporary Art to present the exhibition "Support of Dreams, Surface of Things." Echoing the theme "Log Into Our Sea" this year, it features 3 generative artists Aluan Wang (ilevi oivm), Yi-Wen Lin, Jinyao Lin and 3 installation artists to make digital-native arts intertwined with physical installation arts. Also, it provides different ways to present NFTs in a physical exhibition in addition to putting images on the screen. ssshihtung, curator of the exhibition and a member of Volume DAO, gives us a picture of this exhibition and how he presents NFTs in a physical space.

Generative Art has been gaining popularity alongside the rise of blockchain technology, and academic institutions are showing a growing interest in offering courses on the subject. This article documents the experience of teaching a semester-long course on Generative Art at National Chengchi University. The course covered various aspects of Generative Art, including blockchain-related knowledge, marketing strategies, aesthetic evolution, and coding. Students learned to create Generative Art pieces using p5js, starting from simple algorithms to more advanced topics. To encourage student discussion and reward good behavior, the course introduced a course token, MXC (MixMix Coin). The article provides detailed information about the course structure, student feedback, and showcases of the final projects, which were published on fxhash. Overall, this article is a valuable resource for anyone interested in teaching or learning about Generative Art and blockchain technology.
