metamorph v2 [params edition]
Every single millisecond, your flower will change its colors slightly in relation to the time of the season. Your edition will be assigned with 4 palettes (now determined by you) that the flower will transform between as the seasons pass.
I wanted to create something that creates not just one initial experience which can be easily forgotten. This piece is something that you can come back to over and over again and appreciate it in a new way every time.
The aesthetic is a balance of boldness and subtle natural colors, inspired by japanese Mon (紋)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon_(emblem)). I wanted it to amplify the colors of the current season, while also being able to work in the context of a digital frame in your home or as an avatar on a website. The subtle textures help give it more of an organic and natural feeling, while the bold strokes create a more emblematic mon-like symbol.
## PARAMATER TIPS
Flower Gaps:
The Flower Gaps string param creates a an array that determines which index of flowers should be skipped. Starting with 1 as the most central flower, directly under the pistil), you can include a comma separated list of indexes. (Ex: 3,8,9,10)
Preview Future Dates:
This is not an fx(param), but if you append &d=10 to the url, you can preview what your token will look like in 10 days. This works for any number, positive or negative.
Show Date:
The intent of this was to supplement the future date preview urlParam so you can see which date is being previewed. I was going to only allow this to show if the future date preview urlParam was active, but I decided that it can be up to you to include or not. If you have this running on a display, the date will update every day, and could be a nice visual calendar. These will not display in the preview thumbnails, even when selected.
Animation:
Be careful with the animation, as it can get a little choppy under a few different circumstances:
- High "# of Flowers"
- Small stroke size
- Large screen size
## KEY COMMANDS
Save the artwork as a .jpeg at any time by clicking `s`.
Note: The Image Composition label is selected here since I've overlayed a noise.png file in order to allow for performant animation
