- Melissa Wiederrecht interview!
We had the wonderful opportunity to chat with the amazing Melissa Wiederrecht ahead of her Cosmic Rays release on Verse. Take a listen to learn so much about her and her history and process within the generative art / creative coding space.
It's been a big year of interviews for us, so if you missed either our conversation with Ira and Emil of Emergent Properties or collector Kylo definitely go back and check them out.
- Nat Sarkissian + Bright Moments
Platform favorite Nat Sarkissian is moving from the successful Cure3 release of Eucalyptus and Sagebrush to an even lusher landscape with Bright Moments. Sunset from the Bluffs' mint pass concluded on Thursday via a rebate DA, in which those who buy at a higher tier are refunded the balance between their mint price and final.
- Kittens of Cairo
In light of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, Tezos artists have begun fundraising through the sale of their work, donating proceeds to TezQuakeAid.
Ozzie, fxhash artistic director, created a rather interesting collection on Objkt for the cause. It is, of course, cat-themed.
- Claus Wilke on chain risk and art
One of the biggest detractors that many (admittedly bag-protecting ETH maximalist) collectors say when discussing their hesitancy in collection art on Tezos is the risk around the chain itself, both in its potential for longevity as well as the fact that nearly all of the work is stored on IPFS and not on-chain.
Claus Wilke, an artist and academic, put together an amazing Twitter thread and subsequent fxtext article reviewing the merits of those claims and discussing the responsibility of the collector, artist, and community to ensure the continuation of the art, regardless of chain or storage solution. This is an absolute must-read.
- Here & Now
Interactive minting experience Here & Now is on the verge of launching its fifth series, The Passage, in tandem with fx(params). Entry to the event is gated by a token, and at the end you will be airdropped a piece by one of twelve artists that as its parameters dictated by the actions you took within the experience.

Token sales open up for early minting on the 13th and 14th, with the event date anticipated for the end of February.
02. Market index update
An interesting index update this week given the volatility of tez across Thursday and Friday. Click through the thread below to follow along with some of the findings!
03. Favorites and pick-ups
- Will's pick of the week
project name project name project name
Sound projects are Will's forte, and Carousel up fits the bill in a heartbeat! This fun, interactive Sims-like project is still mintable at an easy 4 tez. Go explore and enjoy.
- Trinity's pick-up of the week
project name project name project name
Gerhard has tumbled a bit in floor since the release of Richter and in this slowing market. Trinity was able to pick this up well below floor and loves the colors that emerge when hitting the 'run' key. Give it a whirl and enjoy the soothing pinks, greens, and blues.
04. Projects of the week
- Lost Memories
project name project name project name
Mark Ludgate's follow-up to the popular The Spectrum of Nature explores the potentiality of climate disaster as expressed via code-based impressionism (read more in his fxtext article). We prefer the previous work (as does the market), but have to wonder how it would have done if it had been released a few weeks ago as originally planned when the primary market was in a peak cycle.

- Flume
project name project name project name
Andrew Mitchell (of Kinetics and Oscillators fame) released this project so fast we both missed the mint! The undulating waves of movement within this animated work incredibly well within the tastefully constructed palettes that are part of each piece. Don't forget to run it!
- The Beauty of Discord

Abdi leverages a clever mix of prerended AI components that shape and inform the painted canvas of the final output of each piece. Press 'a' to reveal the generated image of a fantastical nebula to see the inspiration, and 'g' to turn back. Both sides of the coin are beautiful, so it's like getting two works for the price of one!
05. Shoutouts
- Noisy Creatures
project name project name project name
sfbatchelor is primarily known for black and white work filled with incredible detail, but this foray into the world of color is both awesome and welcome. Noisy Creatures is imminently mintable as of our recording, almost assuredly due to the latest downturn in the market cycle.

- Serene Garden

Flowers are not a new concept for fxhash (see: Garden, Monoliths), but few are so simply and tastefully done as Secret Garden. LESSLIE has a history of making geometric projects, but somehow we doubt that zancan himself has added them to his collection. This is mintable and only 8 tez; buy it.
- terrains
project name project name project name
Subscapes are popular because they look awesome, and terrains clearly scratches a similar itch for collectors. Artist officeca created a bit of a run on their own work by giving holders reserves for this project, and we'll see what else they have coming out in the future.
06. Looking ahead
- RAUSCH
project name project name project name
RAUSCH will already be released by the time you read these words, but that doesn't keep us from looking forward to it from the POV of Friday morning (i.e., when we record). This insane piece from @grasser_alex looks like non-generative video work that you would be more likely to see on Teia or Versum and we are absolutely here for it.
- Platonics
project name project name project name
Phaust's last project on fxhash was Paper Planes way back in May last year, and with a successful Art Blocks Presents release in September, we are happy to see them back on the platform! While we aren't sure that Platonics will find the same place in collectors' hearts as the whimsical Paper Planes, its adroit use of color, grain, and shape to build compositions could have geometry fan (phans?) clamoring for more.
That's it for this week. Join us next Sunday to check in on the markets and art. We sincerely hope for a more exciting week on fxhash, but worst case scenario we can create our own fun and drama.
Don't forget to collect this article if you would like to support the show, and donations are always accepted at 'waitingtosign.tez'. Have an excellent day.
xoxo
