The fascination of pen plotting, handwriting and spirals
The article introduces a collaboration between @greweb and Arthur Simony, titled "Plottable Spirals." This innovative project seamlessly blends the art of handwriting, generative art, and pen plotting to create spirals of words. Arthur Simony's handwritten letters are creatively transformed into code to generate unique curves of words. The chosen words are carefully selected to convey positive values, and they are randomly associated to form thematic spirals. The article also discusses the physical exhibition of premium plots in a Paris gallery and the availability of digital NFT versions on fx(hash). The project represents a fusion of organic handwriting and mathematical precision, challenging the boundaries of art and technology. It explores the beauty of spirals as an art form and the potential of pen plotting to automate handwriting.
A log book of Genuary 2023 explorations
January is the month where generative artists reunite around the event "Genuary", a daily opportunity to create new artworks following a prompt. This is similar to Inktober with prompts more adapted to generative art (less figurative). I took this moment to push forward, using plotters and 3D printers, ideas that I never explored before on almost each of these prompt. Here is my log book highlighting them.
2023 Resolutions: New Ways to Share and Experience Generative Plotter Art
This article highlights @greweb's plans for the coming year as a plotter artist. The focus is on exploring different paradigms for connecting with collectors and sharing art in new and innovative ways. These paradigms include continuing to work on fx(hash) artworks, hosting interactive plotting streams on Twitch, connecting collectors through fragmented art, exploring the idea of evolutive art, and creating a shop experience where collectors can explore and curate their own plots.
Yarn Balls, a limited physical collection of 10 large original plots, by @greweb
"Yarn Balls" is an artist-curated and physical-first collection: it is made of a limited set of 10 unique items that have a physical piece attached. The physical work is a 70 by 50 centimeters plotted work, made with an AxiDraw A1 plotter with a collection of colored sharpie pens on 128g/m2 paper. This is my first physical release of such a dimension and my true first "curated physical work". Each original piece is annotated on the back with its name, a date and a signature.
A Journey into Plottable NFTs
Generative plottable art is (Generative Art)²: not only the digital output is generative, but the physical interpretation of that single outcome can infinitely vary with the physical choices as well as all the glitches and organic events. Retrospective of the explorations of the "Plottable NFT" paradigm and roadmap of my incoming work.
