Possible Land is a series of digital work by creator Yipin Huang who participated in the WAGIWAGI Art Labs, an architectural project《瓦集瓦籍 WAGIWAGI》powered by SUAVEART, Taiwan.

What is WAGIWAGI Art Labs?
WAGIWAGI Art Labs is an architectural project under a bigger picture ”WAGIWAGI”, which tries to use diverse and non-human view point to explore the ecological system of the island, including a number of artist's responses to natural environmental issues such as sun, plant and land, as well as the design of the infrastructure within the architectural space.

The Art Labs, a 300 square meter building is going to be built by Taiwan-based SUAVEART and Indonesian partner Jatiwangi Art Factory in Majalengka, Java, will serve as a cultural center between Taiwan and Indonesia. It could provide studios, temporary offices, and guest house for artists, partners, and researchers.

It will be a joint collaboration designed by Taiwan and constructed with local techniques using bamboo, wood and brick as the main materials, while responding to the current low carbon footprint. The construction process will be presented simultaneously in Indonesia and at Document 15 in Kassel, Germany, in 2022.

WAGIWAGI Art Labs naming:
“WAGIWAGI”, takes our Sun, Plant and Land as context. In Siraya, Atayal, and Indonesian calendar, “WAGI” means sun, also “What a great idea!”. When it is repeated twice, it stands for the Greeting to the nature.
“WA (瓦)” means Tile in Chinese, which stands as the material between nature and human. The first “GI (集)” means Collective, co-working; the second “GI (籍)” represents the Belonging and identy.

Creator Yipin Huang was invited to participate in the early brainstorming of WAGIWAGI Art Labs. The team discussed lots about what should be in the Art Labs? The expected inclusion of functions such as Archive/Library, Fabrication lab, Greenhouse, Kitchen, and Living area, and all projects the imagination of future life and co-governance. Through the various blocks falling from the air, they are planted with possibility and explorations. We are looking forward to the completion of an environmentally friendly and culturally friendly place.
