A dark wave of ultra-rapid production-consumption feedback ellipses overlay each other, touching, influencing, and deteriorating, rolling within the chaotic ocean of stimulation, motivated by the deep need of wanting the very same thing but in seemingly very different ways. Radical Customization enables us to individualize inputs and use them in more specific ways, ‘our’ ways. But the tricky thing is that ‘we’ are not individuals as we like to believe, but ad hoc compounds of organic and synthetic networked organisms interacting with each other at high speed. These actions are based on complex code, organic and mechanical ware, culture, and memory. It seems that we share some common motivations, although there are outliers in our mammal communities. Additionally, there are pretty much endless amounts of networks and quite a large number of humans forming these parallel networked organisms. Basic needs are safety, an urge for stimulation, and satisfying emotions. This is obviously not true in this very binary expression since it rather reflects on a dynamic spectrum. Radical customization should not be perceived as evolution through technological means, since humans are only able to share neurological experiences through social connections with any entity, be it a rock, another carbon-based life form, or a silicon-based entity.
I am sure the art world will come back to us.
Because that is what they do!
Why this manifesto?
Institutions. Deadlines. Needs. Persistence Issues. Why.
Framing the Weltsanschauung.
Persistence is a function of our cognitive abilities?
Relative standing of your class rank.
Brilliance is not a function of your IQ but your context and environment.
What does that mean for us as crypto artists.
Class of 2020.
Regulation. Technology. Framing. Disinovation. Anthropocentric.
Choosing between boredom & suffering, it is not a choice, it is not binary, it is just both, boredom is suffering and suffering gets boring. Hence we recognize the resemblance among boredom and the difference between suffering.
Survival.
Safety & security.
The need to understand.
I need to put my face on!
Rarity. Beautification.
Advantages turn out to be rather disadvantageous, and disadvantages turn out to have more positive effects. Spectrum inversion. We introduce intentional disadvantages into systems in order to create unexpected solutions and advantages for individual groups. Minority groups (Outliers) can be middle-persons, saying NO without losing their standing as members of majority groups would. #Robust phenomenon. As humans, we do not form our self-assessment on our standing in the world but on our immediate circle. Relative deprivation theory. In a highly networked, commercially successful environment as relatively successful artists, we are ranked medium-rare, feeling very bad. The 'amateur' art world is not our turf either, we are nothing in this realm, rejected by popular craft Platforms (i.e. Artfinder, SuperRare, Unknown Origin) on the basis of insufficient quality of our artworks, or banned due to our disabilities, or both.
As human beings, we dramatically underestimate the costs of being at the bottom of a hierarchy. But this is easy to solve. We are aware of our relative position and of this game, so we rationally choose the perfect match in networks, platforms, and competition, instead of aiming for the imaginary ‘TOP’ layers. We target our activities for our perceived sweet spot: having very little or weak competition, maximizing the potential for social, financial, and satisfaction rewards, expanding freedom, and creating financial independence through multi-channel income.
Never target 'the elite' in any field, always look for places where you can be the best, where you can outperform the competition or collaborate, where you can find satisfaction and freedom, and where the competition is less!
Irrationality is a disaster. We tend to think that most of what we do is rational, but it seems we are doing quite the opposite. We are led by the irrationality of the world’s powers and we don’t ask or give a blow of reason to this power. We don’t turn on the lights, we accept dark irrational powers. We accept the addiction to irrational power, profit and money. That is the huge deadly machinery that is about to extinguish the humanity in humans. Empathy is blocked, rational empathy is our sociopathic business model.
If you lack trust in your intuition, as a human being socially, but also as a professional, artistically, for example, you are so fucked. You will trust the wrong people and institutions, you won’t trust - or drastically overestimate - yourself. You don’t rationally act in an irrational world by trusting your intuition and instincts because they are seemingly irrational. But believe us, they can be used for rational decisions. Again. Relative disposition. Evolutionary psychiatry. Sometimes we think that our methods are so stupid, they would really only work on a group of idiots, and they did, they worked 89 times in a row.
Artworks and art don’t really exist outside of physics. They are socio-psychological constructions existing directly within a given body, contextualized and perceived in combination with memory, personality, and networked cognitive processes. Art is completely ephemeral and can not be seen as binary in terms of existence, meaning, and materiality but the concept of art lives on a 4D spectrum, in space-time quantum entanglements. Living in my brain and your brain through physics. Radical Customization. Caught in 16k!
